First IKEA Pop-Up Store in the World to Open in Bangkok |

.........BANGKOK,
November 25, 2013 - The first IKEA pop-up store in the world will open
in Bangkok's Siam Square fashion district on November 22. "We are
excited and honoured to open the first IKEA pop-up store in the world
in Bangkok - it will be as vibrant and lively as the Siam Square neighbourhood
that attracts huge crowds every day," said Lacia Sherlock, Store
Manager, IKEA Bangna. "While IKEA pop-up showrooms have opened
in other markets, this is the first installation to feature a store
and sell some of our best sellers and selected items," she added.
.........In addition to the store, the 580 square meter pop-up will creatively showcase IKEA products in various display rooms including living room, master bedroom, kid's bedroom, kitchen and dining room, and walk-in closet areas. .........It will also feature an interactive information space where visitors can view the 2014 IKEA catalogue on iPads, select IKEA products to customize their room-set displays, wear traditional Swedish costumes for photo opportunities, or relax in the vibrant room settings listening to music or playing games. |

add a party atmosphere, the pop-up will include a stage area where popular
bands such as Tukta & Mini Band, A-Eva, Wish On Earth, and Chilling
Sunday will perform. There will also be a dining zone where visitors can
sample Swedish meatballs and lingonberry juice. Other fun activities include DIY workshops for families and children who will be challenged to decorate and customize their own photo frame. |

IKEA Snapshot contest will also be run. Visitors will be invited to
snap photos posing next to furniture displayed at the pop-up and IKEA
Bangna store. If they post these photos on their Facebook or Instagram

.........Located in the parking area next to the Hard Rock Caf?, Siam Square, the inaugural IKEA pop-up store will sell a variety of selected home accessories and soft toys. It will open from November 22 - December 8, 2013. .........A few days after the Siam Square pop up closes, a second IKEA pop up will open at Avenue Ratchyothin to reach out to the many people in Bangkok. It will open from December 14, 2013 - February 2, 2014. |
