“Italian best jazz album” winner, Danilo Rea is one of Italy’s leading
jazz pianists. His music is rich of surprising moments of improvisation
characterized by a great lyricism, which granted him to be compared
to the piano legend Keith Jarret, especially after Rea performed an
astonishing solo concert at the Guggenheim Museum, a single towering
90-minute spontaneous suite based on a new mix of arias, Italian songs
and Rea originals. His constant research of expressiveness through the
instrument also conferred him the reputation of being a poet of jazz
music.
