Bangkok, 3 October 2013: TOA, best-in-class paint manufacturer and DuPont,
a leading market-driven innovation and science company, have collaborated
to createSuperShield? that is Enhanced with DuPont science? and contains
DuPont? Ti-Pure? pigment. This paint is evaluated by DuPont against
key benchmark competitive paints in lab, application and field tests
to validate SuperShield? 's exceptional durability and solar reflective
performance TOA re-emphasizes its leadership position in quality of
life through the latest TVCM under the concept of "world-class
paint". SuperShield? will be one of the products in exterior paint
portfolio which will certainly boost the total sales in 2013 above the
target.

TOA has collaborated with DuPont, a leading market-driven innovation
and science company, to create paints that provide better living and
for the better environment. The collaboration resulted in TOA launch
SuperShield? with outstanding properties for durability and solar reflectivity".
The technology blend of SuperShield? uses DuPont? Ti-Pure? pigment that
is designed and manufactured to provide exceptional durability and UV
protection for coatings, dispersion to enable better hiding and coverage,
and solar reflectance for improved thermal management of buildings.
TOA SuperShield? is now more durable with less fading and better gloss
retention. It lengthens the overall protection without peeling or chalking.
On top of that, TOA also conducted an independent study on heat reflection by testing against JIS R3106 standard and found that the solar reflectivity can be as high as 96.7% depending on the paint system. Surface temperature can then be reduced to 12 C. It can also be tinted with energy-saving cool pigments which can result in better heat reflection. It has been tested in the DuPont world-class laboratory with weathering samples exposed to accelerated conditions equivalent to 5 times more severe sunlight. TOA SuperShield? performs best in terms of solar reflectivity out of 12 competitive paint samples. Its durability is proven by the test against world-class ASTM standards." said Jatuphat. |

weathering of sample was conducted in desert environment in Arizona,
USA where the climate is very extreme. In the test, specimens would
be mounted on the test apparatus. On the opposite side, there are mirrors
concentrating the sunlight onto the specimens. And the apparatus is
also designed to follow the sun throughout the day so the specimens
will be exposed to sunlight all day long. Moreover, humidity system
will also release moisture to the specimens so the specimens will have
to survive both heat and humidity. SuperShield? is the only paint from
