DJ, Turntablist, Producer, Musician & Designer, Kristian Hernandez
has moved dance floors across the globe from Sydney to Paris, London
to New York, Barcelona to Tokyo and everywhere else in between. Equally
at ease playing for small crowds in underground circuits or amphitheaters
filled with tens of thousands of people, one thing stands true: he knows
just how to make a body move.

Constant travels and exposure to diverse cultures both practically and
musically has refined Krisitan's understanding of a beat: that it is
universal and that it runs deep into the human psyche. It is no surprise
then that his musical tastes span a multitude of genres and forms where
he has parlayed his knowledge of Afro Latin rhythms, Jazz subdivisions,
Funk meters, Soul melodies and Hip-Hop culture into fluency with more
expansive sounds such as the beats of house, uniqueness of world music,
the swing of breaks, the irregular meters of jazz, the heat of latin
grooves & the surge of drum'n'bass.

Kristian possesses the uncanny ability to stir up a dance floor regardless
of the setting, moving audiences alongside acts like Basement Jaxx,
De La Soul, Prodigy, DJ Craze, LTJ Bukem, Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A
Tribe Called Quest, Jazzanova, Spinna, Felix Da House Cat, Shortkut,
DJ Jazzy Jeff, The Black Eyed Peas, Carl Cox, Gang Starr, Mark Rae,
Miguel Migs, Mix Master Mike, Moby, Norman Jay, Public Enemy, Roger
Sanchez, Jojoflores & many others. He first gained notice as a gifted
Turntablist when he won the Australian Qld. DMC Championships in 1999
& 2000. Soon after, he set dance floors & air waves alight as
the host of Australia's longest running Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk and R&B
radio show called Blackbeat. Apart from his world tours as a DJ, he
has also lent his talents to such bands as the legendary Australian
act Regurgitator, the jazz/funk/fusion band Zephyr Timbre & the
electronic bass heavy Soma Rasa.

Currently based out of Asia, Kristian has fostered the first & only
club night in Manila, that is dedicated to the dancer where world-renowned
crews like the Philippine All Stars and the Funk Roots come out to play.
All styles are represented & free form is more than encouraged.
It doesnt matter if youre professional the deranged monkey dance is
just as revered as breakdance, house, latin, hip-hop, jazz, capoeira
and what have you. Kristian also endorses the brand Heavy Boogie,gotsoul
and No Parking On The Dance Floor in Asia, working hand-in-hand with
long-time compadre Jojoflores.

Although it is easy in this day
and age to lay claim to the art of being a global nomad, few can truly
embody this post-modern sensibility. Calling the world his playground,
Kristian is the product of a distinct combination of ethnicity exotic
locales. His Asian / European heritage, Australian upbringing &
lifelong experience of traveling and performing his music has created
a unique individual whose resume and musical influences transcend longitudes,
latitudes and attitudes.
