........February 1, 2013 - Hyundai Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd, sole distributor and importer of Hyundai vehicles in Thailand, enters its 6th year of operation with confidence as the company completed the year 2012 with total sales of 5,010 units or above 10% increase over that of 2011, thanks to the growing sales of Hyundai H-1, Hyundai Tucson and All-New Hyundai Elantra, which was launched earlier in the year.
........Mr. Yoshiaki Ichimura, President of Hyundai Motor (Thailand), disclosed that the unique marketing style of Hyundai in Thailand had contributed significantly to Hyundai's current market acceptance and brand recognition with both the products and the name Hyundai gradually improving. The company started the year 2012 with the AAA or Triple A strategy which focused on improved Assurance, Accountability and Aspiration as ways to bring about greater customer satisfaction. The year also saw the launch of 2 new models in the Kingdom namely All-New Hyundai Elantra - the winner of 2012 North American Car of the Year Award, and the New Grand Starex Premium - the latest 7-seater Luxury MPV that drew beyond-expected booking number during the Motor Expo 2012. "Hyundai Motor (Thailand) ended the year with sales beyond 5,000 units or over 10% increase which is in line with the current Hyundai trend around the globe," Mr. Ichimura said.

........"As evidence, the level of customer satisfaction in 2012 improved along with the level of sales making the number of total Hyundai vehicles on the road exceeding 15,000 at yearend. New product like All-New Hyundai Elantra helped bring Hyundai to a new market segment and generate sales for the passenger car line up," he explained.

........Since the start of its operation late 2007, Hyundai Motor (Thailand) has enjoyed steadily growing sales through introduction of premium products and caring after-sales operation and policy. Hyundai products have displayed higher performance and quality at the same time value for money to drive each and every premium models to the heart of high-end Thai consumers. Sales of Hyundai vehicles in Thailand from 2008 until 2012 are as follows:
880 units in 2008
1,788 units in 2009
3,048 units in 2010
4,514 units in 2011
5,010 units in 2012

The breakdown details of the annual sales in 2012 are as follows:
H-1 series 3,467 units
Grand Starex 820 units
Tucson Series 381 units
Sonata Sport 121 units
Elantra 205 units
H-100 16 units
Mr. Ichimura said that the policy for 2013 would focus strongly on upgrading the level of customer satisfaction and confidence through "Quality Enhancement", which was the key to expanding the number of sales successfully under the latest concept of "Hyundai Everywhere". This concept has been adapted from the fact that Hyundai vehicles are now seen on the road of Thailand - everywhere we go, proving their popularity and well-embraced market acceptance.

The figure will climb to 7.4 million units at the end of 2013. Sales of Hyundai vehicles alone in 2012 exceeded 4.4 million units," he said.
 
 
........"To provide further confidence in the ownership experience, Hyundai service and showroom network will be expanded from 23 locations to as many as 26 locations. Currently there are 11 branches of showrooms in Bangkok and 12 in the provinces. The new facilities for Hyundai Motor (Thailand) Corporate headquarters will also be erected in 2013. The facility, standing on over 7-rai land, will include National Service and Parts Center with division to provide enhanced Human Resource Development. Parts warehousing area will be doubled and service work bay will be up to 22 slots to make sure speedy and impressive services despite increasing number of Hyundai vehicles," he added.
 
........As for new products scheduled for launch in 2013, there are both fresh new models and minor changed line up to be expected. The unique sport-hatchback Hyundai Veloster & Veloster GDI Turbo will re-write a new definition of UNIQUENESS that no other car dares to come even close before. The beauty and performance are harmoniously combined to surely make the Veloster one of the most exciting models to be sold in Thailand. Hyundai Sonata and Sonata Sport, Hyundai H-1 Series and Hyundai Grand Starex Series are among the line-ups awaiting the minor change opportunities.
